How to configure Cisco Wirless Lan Controller Mac Filtering (Screen Shots)

Cisco Wireless Controller MAC Filtering

Hello Guys, This document covers how to enable and configure Mac Filtering in Cisco Wireless Controllers(Cisco WLC). We are providing the screenshots for more understanding and visibility. If you need any help please contact us.

Requirements:

You should know the basic configuration of WLC through GUI. The information given is base on all Cisco Wireless Controllers.

Note:
After enabling Mac Filtering in any WLAN, No one cannot connect without Mac filtering even if they know the password.

Management Tip:

Configure your SSID with mac filtering in the official environment then you can send your password to everyone and if anyone wants to connect. Ask him for their device name and mac addresses enable you to provide the required services.

Pic-01: WLAN> Edit > Check on Mac Filtering

In Pic-01, For enabling Mac Filtering on any SSID. You need to enable Mac Filtering in WLAN as mentioned in the above picture.

Note: By default Mac Filterdisabledisbaled on WLAN.

Pic-02: Security> AAA > Mac Filtering

In Pic-02, Go in Security tab then Press AAA in the left side column and select MAC Filtering.

After pressing Mac Filtering, Now press New tab in the right side of the column in (Pic0-3).

Pic-04: Security> AAA > Mac Filtering > New

In Pic-04,

Mac Address: Provide Mac address, you want to allow through Mac Filtering.
Profile Name: Provide Profile you want to allow for this user
Description: You can mention user information here
IP Address: If you want to assign any static IP to the user, mention here
Interface Name: Provide your interface to the user.

After doing this click Apply, Now you are done with Cisco controller Mac Filtering.
